Finding Colors Workshop in Biloxi, MS

TriCoast got on the road in August for the Finding Colors Workshop in Biloxi, Mississippi. It was a short 4...5...8...13 hr drive to the Hard Rock Casino where we finally roosted down for the night.

One of the best parts of a workshop is the Road Trip through different states. You never know what you get to see. And sometimes the things you see, will make you turn the car around, dodge traffic, cut off tractors, fight off crickets, just so you can get a photo next to a bear crossing sign.

For all the curious, there is a tourist info across the street. Please be advised that the bears do have the right of way. And will pose if you have a pot of honey.

Our perilous driving conditions. Just so you know how much we love you guys!

Good thing we got on the right bridge...

Houma, LA. I think these guys need to work on some attractions. Maybe a carnival or circus. Like the ones with the sideshow that has bigfoot in a cage or a liger(my favoritest animal ever!!!), or the worlds tallest midget, and maybe a squirrel fish. I mean, it's not like they have a shortage of lodging...

After Houma, we crossed over to the outskirts of New Orleans. Because of the severe thunderstorm/tsunami/big rain cloud like conditions, we seeked shelter in Bourget's of the South.

Public Service Announcement. Don't drive and shoot at the same time. This will happen. Unless of course you're putting on makeup, while on the cellphone, and driving a manual shift.

Couple of the bikes in the showroom.

After Bourget's, we headed straight to Bourbon St to meet up with a small group of photographers that were already enjoying the historical part of New Orleans.

Here's Gerri. A Canadian. Hi Gerri!

Here's Pete. A New Yorker. Demonstrating the Statue of Liberty pose. Well done Pete!

Here's Mike. A Texan. Checking out that...er...package...

Pre-class tidbits :) Remember, No Secrets!

I think Angel was ok with it... Mayhem #498032

Here's Gerri. Again. Hi Gerri!

Here's MyKey, showing off his My Key, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where all Rockstars stay.

Fanciest roll of toilet paper. Not exactly the softest though...

All this shenanigans were just day one...

Day two is the actual class day. The location is inside an old school house, slowly re-renovated and preserved. It's a neat location, with lots of natural lighting shooting locations. But we're not here about the natural lighting :D

Later, we headed back to the Hotel after Dinner. Everyone wanted to take a nap after full belly. Even the model...

We took a group shot after she woke up.

Vacation snapshot.

And Day 3. Class. With a candygram.

Everyone wants to take photos "The Rockstar" :D

Processing a Raw image.

Hope to see ya'll at the next class!!!

TriCoast has the amazing honor to photograph this amazing young lady's wedding day this coming Jan in Erie, PA. What is even more amazing is the young lady (a Texan I might ad) who's wish was for everyone to become an organ donor, never knowing in just a few months her decision would save the lives of 5 people she had never meet.

Our Bride meets her Organ Donor parents for the very first time on the Tyra Banks Show.

Truly an amazing pair of young ladies and a wedding event I truly can not wait for. I am SOOOO glad Canon has auto focus on their cameras cause I feel I wont be able to see with all my tears in my eyes (yeah I know im a softy)

Remember while we sometimes get down in a rut, tired and simply in a place where we just go through the motions, to us it might just be another click of the shutter but to the people on the other side of the camera it could be the single most important thing they ever personally have. Our "job" is amazing, our art is truly a gift, not only to us but to the people we capture.

Celebrate life, enjoy today and everyday, we are here for such a short period of time!

Digital Wedding Forum - Mentoring

Well we have been honored with being asked to be a Mentor at the Digital Wedding Forum Convention in Tampa Florida just before the PPA National Convention - Imaging this coming January 2008.

With a HUGE list of AMAZING photographers I am truly honored to be a part of the event, share my time with other photographers who love this artform and raising money for a worthwide charity of DWF's choosing.

Each mentoring session will last 30 mins long, I will do at least 4 of them at a cost of $25.00 each. This $100 dollars will be donated to this charity which I feel is an amazing and wonderful thing to do.

Private One on One Workshop

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having a one on one private workshop with an amazing young photographer. This photographer has only been in the business for under a year but WOW she has some serious skills.

I was truly impressed with her passion, love and sheer joy she has for this amazing artform and I was honored to share the time we had in going over all the ends and outs of this artform from Lighting (both inside and outside) wireless flash, shooting into the sun, processing tips and tricks in Photoshop, Blends and a whole lot more.

Truly sharing more information in the 8 hours than I normally can in a 3 day normal workshop it was a great day all the way around!

I will post some images from the event as soon as I get some!

Graveyard, Black Wedding Gown - No Problem!

Playing catch up today for the blog and while we took these a few months back I wanted to post it before I got into trouble by the bride :)

A super amazing young lady who we had the pleasure of capturing her wedding day in Houston in Aug. A few weeks before their wedding we shot her bridal session and some sexy shots for her hubby to be in a hotel sweet in Galveston Texas. After the wedding we headed out to San Fran for a post wedding event capturing images of her all over the city and surrounding areas.

Hope you enjoy!

HOT engagement session in Houston Texas

We had a great new client we had the pleasure of meeting and capturing their formal event this past weekend at Herman Park and Downtown Houston. Having found TriCoast through Texas Photo Forum, a forum I visit daily, we meet for the first time in person at the session. A beautiful couple who have been together for several years and finally are "tying the knot" down South on the Gulf Coast. We started off outside and BOY WAS IT HOT, but the bride was such a trooper and never got upset or mad at the heat and sweat. After we shot outside some we headed indoors and captured some amazing shots of the groom in his AirForce uniforma and the Bride in her tradtional wedding gown for her culture.

Enjoy!
